Today I wanted to share the self-care techniques which I use and now implement in my everyday life. They are part of my everyday life, because I believe these techniques are what is needed to maintain daily health and happiness.

The first time I heard the abbreviation TLC, I had to check it up online! For those of you who haven´t heard of it before, it means Tender Loving Care. During my personal journey I have learnt that it is super important to give yourself TLC everyday! Many of us are taught that taking time for ourselves is selfish, that we need to think of others first. But you can't pour from an empty cup! I have tried it so many times and it just doesn't work! You NEED to take care of yourself first.

One area I am really passionate about is motherhood, because I so often see women struggle through this period and I have been struggling too (a lot!)! Motherhood can be one of the most rewarding yet challenging times for women. I so often see new mothers completely drop many of their self-care routines and almost give themselves over to their family only to the detriment of themselves. Maintaining self-care as a mother is essential and the healthier, both physically and mentally, the better you will be able to care for your family. Also, I think it is of great value that you are a good role model to your children. Being mental and physically healthy is just that!

With that being said, I want to share with you the self-care techniques which I now implement in my everyday life. I've learnt these tools during my life's most challenging moment. This is what I do to show myself TLC on a daily basis:

  • Be in the Now

  • Have a Daily Routine

  • Eat and Drink Healthy

  • Show Gratitude

  • Practice Yoga and Meditation
